Maneuvers The sword dregling's single level in warblade grant it three known maneuvers, all of which can be readied, and one stance. The sword dregling draws maneuvers from five disciplines, most commonly the Coin's Edge, Dancing Goddess, Iron HeartTOB, Tiger ClawTOB, and White RavenTOB.

A sword dregling typically knows divine wind flurry, mightstrike or leading the attackTOB p. 91, and unbalancing assault. The stance known is shattered jade.

Strategies and Tactics[edit]

A sword dregling will open battle by moving into charge range, at which point it will initiate unbalancing assault. Once the distance is closed, a sword dregling acting as part of a group will use unbalancing assault and leading the attack to create favorable conditions for the rest of the group, which will then piggyback off of their ally's maneuvers and take advantage of the targeted opponent. A sword dregling may wait to initiate shattered jade until a fellow dregling has flat-footed an opponent, flanked, or connected with leading the attack, especially if it does not open combat with unbalancing assault. If the sword dregling does open combat by charging, it may or may not enter shattered jade.

Dreglings are not particularly well-trained and are unlikely to engage in a defeat-in-detail strategy, so play their tactics up or down in accordance with the challenge the players are able to handle.

Shield Dregling[edit]

A sword dregling may be equipped with a light wooden shield, in which case it trades one of it's known disciplines for the Golem Heart discipline and knows endure destruction, typically in place of divine wind flurry. In terms of changes to the stat block, a shield dregling has +1 to AC (AC 15, touch 12, flat-footed 13), its attacks deal 1d8+2 rather than 1d8+3, and it incurs an armor check penalty of -1, lowering its skill checks to Balance +5, Jump +7, and Tumble +5.
