== Coding help with the Flaws page ==
So a day or two ago I managed to figure out how to work the coding on [[3.5e Flaws]] and subsequent templates to show what kind of bonus feat the flaw grants, if it's a normal "any" feat or a limited one like "moderate only" or "metamagic only". Everything is legit except one thing. Go to a flaw, any one, and look at the footer, the RDF feed. Here's an example: [[Almost Dead (3.5e Flaw)]]
There is "Flaw Grants" and for some reason that one is a link, unlike the others. A red link because there is no page associated, but why is it a link at all? Sadly, I could not figure that one out.

:Properties default to type:Link unless specified otherwise. We basically lways specify otherwise because links don't work for most of the things we want propertized. That was overriding the behavior of the property link, which I also removed because it would be weird when compared to the exception cases (you could put it back if you want I guess, or add a switch for feat strength if you wanted to be fancy). I was also tempted to replace "Flaw Grants" with "Benefit", but decided on laziness. :You basically want to copy the existing [[Template:3.5e Gate Knight Sacrifices Breadcrumb]] into it's own template, maybe [[Template:3.5e Entropic Wanderer Sacrifices Breadcrumb]], and change the relevant links. Then drop that template at the bottom of any relevant sacrifices instead of the Gate Knight one. == Creating New Class Ability Component Preload - Constellations ==
Heyo! It's me again. I'm working on a star-themed class at current that uses a class ability called Constellations. Essentially, the class has three abilities - A blast (Like Eldritch Blast), a Ward (An at-will, short-duration, small-effect defense buff) and a Mark (A heal-over-time buff). Each Constellation has a passive effect, alters the Blast, Ward and Mark, and grants a couple spells know of each spell level 0-9. Thus, it works almost like an Eldritch Essence, except it affects most of your class abilities rather than just one.
I'm not entirely sure how to go about creating the preload for this class feature (As I'd like to see it utilized in other works, as well as making it easier for me to add more of them later), so I figured you were the fellow to ask. I'm sure you get tired of us noobs coming to you for tech support, so what I'm asking is less "Make it for me" and more requesting a little insight into how I would go about making these myself (In case one of my future projects requires something along these lines). I saw you help Eiji with his Attunement spells, so here's something to start with, direction-wise.

I think something along those lines will work, I'm just not sure where to input the information for it to show up, or how to configure the final appearance, such as what order the bits show up in. I want the layout to be something like the Domains, where it tells you about the domain's abilities up top, then the spell list below (So basically the same order I put them in there).
Anyway, I'll be trying to work on the rest of the bits and bobs; Breadcrumbs, "Add New" page and suchlike. Thank you for your time, my friend.

:::The "<nowiki>{{ <thing> }}</nowiki>" is a template. When the page is saved, the wiki will grab whatever is at Template:<thing> and drop itinto the wiki page at the point where you put the <nowiki>{{ <thing> }}</nowiki>. Some templates are just text, so you can have the same block of text formatted in the same way in lots of different places. But most allow minor, pre-defined configurations. The "|<param>=<value>" lines are the pre-defined customizations, where each of the <param>s get replaced with the things in the <value>s when the template is loaded into the page.
:::The preload is kind of like a template, but it makes a copy of the page for you to edit directly. Its a convenient starting place that doesn't force consistency in formatting like a template does.
:::As you've figured out, we use both. The preload says "here's how your page should look, here are the templates you should use, but if you want to change stuff you can", and the templates make sure that users don't break formatting unless they go really non-standard. So you'll need to make both. At first, I thought this was because I was trying to upload files from my iPad. But when I tried to upload something from my laptop, I got the same result. So I think something is wrong with the site's image-uploading algorithm. Please fix it. (The image I'm trying to upload at the moment is a painting titled "Warrior on the Battlefield"; it's the second result on a Google image search for "[[Cavalier (3.5e Class)|Cavalier Horseman]]". It's <i>possible</i> that the site I'm trying to get the image from (something called AliExpress – I can't give you a link because the spam filter would block it) has something to do with the failing uploads, but I tried uploading a random screencap from my iPad just to test the system and that got the same error message (repeated several times).
