Atlatl[edit]

A primitive device that allows for more effective use of javelins. An atlatl is a hollow, tubular device fitted with a stopper on one end. This is attached to a grip usually made of leather or rope straps. When loaded with a javelin, the javelin's base range increment (before being augmented by other sources such as Far Shot) is increased to 60 feet. In addition, the javelin also deals damage as if it was one size larger than normal.

Unlike most other projectile lauchers, an atlatl cannot be enchanted as a weapon. It does not, however, require any further proficiency on the part of its user so long as they may use a javelin. Throwing a javelin with an atlatl also does not require any more action expenditure than throwing a javelin normally.
