Champion of Pretapodr[edit]

War is peace!

Freedom is slavery!

Ignorance is strength!

—Pretapodric Battlecry

The most enthusiastic followers of Pretapodr are occasionally selected to become Champions, gaining the ability to spread happiness and more effectively root out bad influences.

Becoming a Champion of Pretapodr[edit]

Champions of Pretapodr are mostly martial classes, with a touch of thought control (pun intended). The thought control relies on Charisma.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Champion of Pretapodr.

Lay on Hands (Su): As a standard action, the Champion of Pretapodr can make any number of touched targets feel as though they have just been healed. The targets regain a number of hit points equal to her character level plus her caster level. After a number of rounds equal to the Champion of Pretapodr's Charisma modifier, the touched targets lose as much health as they gained. During the time that the targets have this extra health, they can act normally as though they weren't disabled or dying, but do not stop being disabled or dying for the purpose of health loss, and cannot stabilize during this time.

Detect Good (Sp): The Champion of Pretapodr can cast detect good at will, with a caster level equal to her character level.

Detect Law (Sp): The Champion of Pretapodr can cast detect law at will, with a caster level equal to her character level.

Soul to Heaven (Su): By touching a corpse, a level 2 Champion of Pretapodr can make it seem like that corpse's soul is rising into the sky and disappearing. While this has no strict mechanical effect, characters who see this are now only half as upset about the death of that corpse.

White Lies (Ex): At level 2, the Champion of Pretapodr gets a +10 bonus to any Bluff checks that are likely to make their intended recipient happier.

Smite (Ex): At level 2, whenever a Champion of Pretapodr hits a target for the first time in a round, she deals 1d6 additional points of damage. This improves by 1d6 points of damage per level. For example, a Fighter(7)/Champion of Pretapodr(4) who attacked Joe twice and Bob once and hit every time would deal 3d6 extra points of damage to Joe, and 3d6 extra points of damage to Bob.

Grant Euphoria (Su): At level 3, the Champion of Pretapodr can make people happy. As a full-round action, she can adjust a touched creature's attitude towards all others to Friendly, if the attitude was more hostile before, unless the creature succeeds on a Will save (DC 10 + half character level + Charisma modifier). This effect wears off after 1d6 minutes. If used more than once on the same target, the target must make a DC 15 Will save each additional time or become addicted for 1d4 days, following the Champion of Pretapodr around and begging/threatening for additional touches.

At level 5, the Champion of Pretapodr's successful touch can make the creature Helpful towards all others instead. If she chooses to use this improved version, the addiction DC increases to 20 and the addiction duration increases to 2d4 days.

Unthink (Sp): At level 4, the Champion of Pretapodr can cast modify memory at will on willing creatures. The amount of time it takes to visualize the modified memory is only one-fifth of the duration of the memory.

Ex-Champions of Pretapodr[edit]

If the Champion of Pretapodr greatly offends her deity, Pretapodr revokes her access to all of her supernatural and spell-like abilities. Luckily, Pretapodr forgets 2d6 hours later, and she can use her abilities again, as long as she still worships Pretapodr.
