This is a homebrew race meant to replace a published one. You may be looking for the Killoren that were printed in Races of the Wild instead.

Killoren[edit]

Killoren are the product of the wrongful deaths of other fey, the instruments of revenge for the natural world. When fey die, their remaining magical energies coalesce into a humanoid form and become a killoren, imbuing it with a deeply-rooted hatred for those who wronged it in its previous lives. While not necessarily evil, they are extremely militant in response to acts against nature.

Perhaps the most frightening thing about killoren is their nondescript appearance, which is practically indistinguishable from that of a half-elf. When they switch to different aspects of nature, however, their skin and eye color changes, hinting at their not-so-mortal heritage.

Racial Traits[edit]

  • Fey type: As fey, killoren are immortal, take minimum base damage from weapons not made of cold iron, and maximum base damage from cold iron weapons.
  • Medium: Killoren have no special bonuses or penalties due to size.
  • Killoren base land speed is 30 feet.
  • Low-light Vision.
  • +2 racial bonus to Knowledge (nature) and Survival checks
  • Cold Iron Anathema (Ex): A killoren is unable to handle cold iron weapons, taking a -2 penalty on attack rolls when wielding them.
  • Manifest Nature’s Might: Killoren change form based on which particular natural aspect of nature they choose (from the three described below). The killoren may change which aspect is manifested by a ritual that takes one minute, but once manifested the effects are indefinite.
Aspect of the Ancient: While manifesting this aspect, the killoren may commune with nature as a supernatural ability usable at will. This takes just as long to cast as the normal spell. They also gain the constant ability to speak with plants and animals.
Aspect of the Destroyer: The killoren gains a +1 bonus to all attack rolls and a +2 bonus to all damage rolls while manifesting the aspect of the destroyer.
Aspect of the Hunter: Manifesting the aspect of the hunter grants the killoren the scent special quality, a +10 bonus to movement speed, and the benefits of the Track feat.
