Nocturnus Initiate[edit]

Acquiring the power of another creature is a recurring theme in dnd, by example the dragon disciple seek to acquire the power of dragons. The Nocturnus Initiate seek to gain the power of a vampire, the predator of the night. The process of becoming a Nocturnus Initiate require drinking the blood of an ancient vampire, which is both dangerous and draining. Slowly but surely the Nocturnus Initiate will gain more and more vampiric powers until it finally turn into the dreaded creature.

Becoming a Nocturnus Initiate[edit]

Entry Requirements  
Alignment: Any Non-Good. 
Skills: Bluff 12 Ranks, Craft (Alchemy) 12 Ranks, Knowledge (Religion) 12 Ranks. 
Feats: Forbidden Knowledge
Special: Must drink an alchemical mixture made from the blood of a ancient vampire or have a Major Vampire Bloodline.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Nocturnus Initiate.

Spellcasting: At each level except 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th, you gain new spells per day and an increase in caster level (and spells known, if applicable) as if you had also gained a level in a spellcasting class to which you belonged before adding the prestige class level. You do not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. If you had more than one spellcasting class before becoming a Nocturnus Initiate, you must decide to which class to add each level for the purpose of determining spells per day, caster level, and spells known.

Alternatively if the Nocturnus Initiate is not a spellcaster she may elect to gain a [fighter] bonus feat she meet the prerequisite of at 2nd, 6th and 8th level.

Ability Boost (Ex): As the Nocturnus Initiate advance in this prestige class she receive ability score bonus as per the table above.

Price of Power: Upon entering this prestige class the Initiate of Nocturnus Initiate immediately take 4 points of constitution burn, these points do not heal naturally. Each level after the first she heal 1 point of constitution burn until her transformation at 4th. Additionally the Nocturnus Initiate now count as an undead creature.

Quasi-Vampiric Ability: At 1st, 2nd and 3rd level the Nocturnus Initiate pick one of the following ability:

This ability is rendered obsolete at 4th level.

Vampirism: At 4th level the Nocturnus Initiate gain the draculus template with no level adjustments. She do not receive ability score adjustment from the template however.

Nocturnus Power: At 5th level and each odd level thereafter the Nocturnus Initiate pick one of the following ability:

Gaseous Form (Su): The Nocturnus Initiate can use greater gaseous form as a supernatural ability at will.

Greater Alternate Form (Su): The Nocturnus Initiate can turn into any animal of it CR -4 when using her Alternate Form ability.

Greater Vampiric Bite (Su): The Nocturnus Initiate vampiric bite feral strike now deal 2d6 damage (for a medium creature) and gain improved grab.

Hypnotic Gaze (Su): The Nocturnus Initiate gain a gaze attack usable as a standard action. Any creature caught in it must make a will save or become dominated for 1 round.

Insidious Voice (Su): The Nocturnus Initiate can use insidious suggestion and mass suggeston as supernatural abilities at will. A creature that succeed it save against either is immune to any further attempt for 24 hours.

Wings of the Night (Ex): At 6th level the Nocturnus Initiate gain a pair of bat wings which grant her a fly speed of 60 ft. with good maneuverability. When not in use, the Nocturnus Initiate can turn her wings into a nighthide cloak or tuck them inside of her as a free action.

Undead Regeneration: A 8th level Nocturnus Initiate gain fast healing 5,this stack with other source of fast healing. Additionally the Nocturnus Initiate regrows lost limbs within 1 minute, or immediately if reattached.

True Immortality: A 10th level Nocturnus Initiate cannot be destroyed easily or at all in many case, the previous methods of killing her no longer work. No matter how damaged her body is she will always regenerate as soon as she restored above 1 hit point. If her remains are placed within the range of an hallow effect she do not come back to unlife, instead she remain inert until she is freed.

Vampire Lord: A 10th level Nocturnus Initiate ascend the the power of a vampire lord, this allow her to use all of her draculus ability as a swift action, this include any of her Nocturnus Power as well. Additionally sunlight can no longer reduce her strength below 1.
