Thief Dagger, Cursed[edit]

Thief Dagger, Cursed
Price: 5000 gp
Body Slot: Held
Caster Level: 20th
Aura: Strong Conjuration
Activation: Use-activated
Weight: 1 lb

This small dagger has a terrifying gleam. It's sure to shake the funds out of those you threaten.

The thief dagger is a dagger +3 which allows a few useful abilities for would-be thieves. It provides a +10 bonus on Sleight of Hand checks when on one's person, and allows the wielder to use Sleight of Hand untrained. It also provides a +10 bonus on Intimidate checks when brandishing the weapon for the purposes of robbing someone (but no other ability). Everything seems grand. However... the blade is secretly intelligent (Int 16, Wis 16, Cha 16, CE alignment) and never makes Ego checks, for it never speaks, resists, nor shows any signs of intellect. Instead, each day, it makes a Sleight of Hand check with a +20 bonus, and if successful, it steals 10% of the wielder's currently held money. The money is plucked out as if using telekinesis and absorbed by the blade. It will continue to steal until it has stolen at least 5,000 gp, or it is caught. In either situation, it will teleport away to parts unknown. Often at the worst possible time, such as before a fight. Where it goes, few know. Some have suspected it teleports to its creator, or a dragon, or both to deliver the funds, or that it keeps them for its own intent.

Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, telekinesis, teleport.
Cost to Create: 2,000 gp, 200 EXP, 5 days.
