Word of Lies

Words of lies are not the sort of people you should trust. They are the sort of people you will trust, however.

Becoming a Word of Lies

Characters who pursue becoming a Word of Lies do so because they know that wielding sheer power is nowhere near as efficient as appearing to wield sheer power.

Entry Requirements

Skills:	Forgery 4 ranks or Bluff 4 ranks.
Spellcasting:	Know the Avis, Min, and Terr spell words. Have a caster level of at least 3.

Class Features

All of the following are class features of the Word of Lies.

Words: At every level except 1st, you gain new words per day, words known, and an increase in caster level as if you had also gained a level in a wordcasting class to which you belonged before adding the prestige class level. You do not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. If you had more than one wordcasting class before becoming an Word of Lies, you must decide to which class to add each level for the purpose of determining words per day, caster level, and words known.

Min-Imal Casualties: At level 1, whenever you use the Min spell effect word on someone, that target gets a Morale penalty on all Wisdom-based and Intelligence skill checks for the next minute equal to your Word of Lies class level.

Improved Avis: At level 2, the Avis spell word lasts twice as long when you cast it.

Terr Away: At level 3, whenever you use the Terr spell effect word on someone, all your intimidate checks against that target get a +2 bonus for every Word of Lies class level you possess.

Subtle Magic: At level 4, you can attempt to disguise the act of casting a word spell as merely some sort of foreign saying with an unmodified Bluff check.

Ilus: At level 5, you learn the special Ilus spell effect word.

Ilus (Area of effect shapes only): You can create images or sounds within the area of effect of the spell (Will disbelief). You must concentrate on the images or sounds to make them move or change. Spot and listen checks to discover that it's an illusion are opposed by your Bluff check. The illusion lasts for 1 round/caster level. With two instances of Ilus, it lasts for 1 minute/caster level. With three, it lasts for 10 minutes/caster level. With four, it lasts for 1 hour/caster level. With five, it lasts for 1 day/caster level. With six, it lasts for 1 week/caster level. With seven, it lasts for 1 year/caster level. With eight, it's permanent. The spell gains the [Figment] descriptor.
