You must make a melee touch attack to hit.  If the attack succeeds, the subject gains 1d4 [[Spellstrained (3.5e Condition)|Spellstrained]] levels.  Furthermore, if you have any spellstrained levels, you remove the amount of spellstrained levels given from yourself.  If you have no spellstrained levels, and the target receives at least 1 spellstrained level, you instead gain a +1 Magical bonus to your [[Caster_level#Caster_Level|Caster Level]] for one hour.  This bonus does not stack with any other magical bonuses to caster level, including casting this spell again.
