Staves and scrolls use your caster level instead of their own and your spellcasting ability score to calculate their DC. Furthermore, whenever you use a staff or scroll, you may make an Arcana check for the ''There's a Trick to It'' ability. If you succeed, you may apply your [[Spellcasting (3.5e Feat Type)|Spellcasting]] feats to that use of the staff or scroll.
