|benefit=A cacophonous spell is so loud that it ignores the resistance to sonic of creatures affected by the spell, and affected creatures with immunity to sonic still take half damage.  This feat can be applied only to spells with the sonic descriptor.  Creatures vulnerable to sonic take double damage from a cacophonous spell rather than the typical 150% damage.  Effects which negate the propagation of sound (such as a vacuum or a ''[[SRD:Silence|silence]]'' spell) are ignored, even permitting speach if the spell allows for such.  Creatures affected by a cacophonous spell are still entitled to whatever saving throw the spell normally allows.  A cacophonous spell uses up a spell slot one level higher than the spell's actual level.
