|benefit=As a standard action the deity can assume command of a creature as if using the ''[[SRD:Dominate Monster|dominate monster]]'' spell for 24 hours, but it ignores immunity to mind-affecting abilities (though immune creatures get a +6 bonus on their saves).  The deity can attempt to control any number of creature whose HD equal 10 + its divine rank.  The deity can attempt to take control of that number all at once, or in smaller numbers.  All creatures to be affected must be within the deity’s divine aura and line of sight when first affected.  Once control is established, distance is not a factor and the deity can maintain control remotely, even across planes and through wards or barriers (except divine shields and warding spells cast by deities of higher rank than the deity using the ability).  The subject is allowed a [[Will]] save (DC 10 + 1/2 HD + the deity’s [[Charisma]] modifier) to resist and is allowed a new save if the deity commands the subject to do something against its nature.  A creature which makes a successful save is immune to the deity's control creatures ability for 24 hours.

If the deity already has the maximum number of creatures under its control, it can still attempt to take control of other creatures, but must first release one or more creatures already under its control.  By concentrating on one of its controlled subjects, it can use the creature's senses to view and hear the creature's surroundings and be able to speak through the creature.  When using this direct link, the creature's eyes glow and its voice changes, making it obvious that it is possessed.
