Cross-Style Training [Monk, Multiclass]
Benefit: Choose one melee weapon you are proficient with; that weapon now counts as a special monk weapon. When using that weapon in melee, you may choose to deal the base damage of your unarmed strike rather than the weapon's base damage as well as have your Ki Strike affect the weapon as though it were your unarmed attack (on top of the weapon's normal properties). Thus, if a level 12 monk chose the longspear, they may treat its base damage as 2d6 rather than 1d8. Furthermore, choose one class; you may multiclass freely between the Monk class and the chosen class, even if the class usually has restricted multiclassing rules as well (such as the paladin).
Special: You may take this feat instead of one of the bonus feats that the Monk class grants. Cross-Style Training can be used in place of Monastic Training (ECS) to qualify for a feat, prestige class, or other special ability.
