== ECL 1 Reincarnation Table ==

''[[SRD:Reincarnate|Reincarnate]]'' is an interesting spell as an early, cheap means of bringing a character back from the dead. However, most people are pretty particular about their character and the idea of having them change race randomly is off-putting. That's understandable. In 3.0e, reincarnation was a bit rougher ("hey, sorry, you're character is now a hawk because you rolled badly"). In 3.5e, at least the table was limited to fairly humanoid forms, though it included things with HD and LA which make recalculating a character additionally irksome. While this table is still for humanoid characters only, it limits the variety to ECL 1 only races.

There's roughly a 10% chance of coming back as any given one of the typical races. A smattering of other races has been thrown into the mix, both SRD and homebrew. Also, the subrace options are now established directly on the table.

'''Additional Variation:''' The spell normally requires a 1,000 gp material component cost. For every payment of an additional 50% of that amount (500 gp by default) in material components, the caster may roll on the chart once more. The player then gets to choose which of the results he wants for his new form.
