This spell focuses your senses on a single task, enabling you to exceed your normal abilities through sheer effort and focus.  When you cast this spell, you must assign the conditions to which it will go off in a similar manner of a contingency spell.  You gain a +5 insight bonus, plus 1/2 your caster level (maximum +10 at 10th level) to a single attack roll, skill check, opposed roll, saving throw, or AC.  

You must choose what you wish to apply your bonus to at the time of casting, and the spell will go off at nearest opportunity (your next attack roll, or your next skill check for example).  In all cases, the spell immediately goes into effect when the prescribed circumstances occur.  The spell occurs based solely on the stated conditions, regardless of whether you want it to.

You cannot have more than one Ell's Great Effort active at a time.  Likewise, for the purpose of spells and things which effect it, Ell's Great Effort counts as [[SRD:Moment of Prescience|Moment of Prescience]], and likewise cannot be applied while you have that spell in effect, and vice versa.
