Intoxicated[edit]

When you've had one beer too many.

If you consume an a intoxicating substance you must make a Fortitude save or become intoxicated. Each additional drink in the 8 hours increases the DC by +2. Failing the DC renders you intoxicated, which deals 2 points of temporary Intelligence and Wisdom damage, -1 to attack rolls, -1 to Dexterity skill checks, and grants 5 temporary hp. The penalties are cumilative. Each time you fail a save against intoxication, you obtain the penalties and benefits again. Once your Intelligence or Wisdom hits 0, you pass out drunk. Temporary ability damage and temporary hp from intoxication lasts for 8 hours before vanishing. Temporary hit points stack, up to 5 hp per HD.

Some items and effects can reduce or remove intoxication. Any effect which can remove or cure poison can remove intoxication. Immunity to ability damage or poison is immunity to intoxication. Eating while you drink grants a +1 circumstance bonus on your saving throws against intoxication.

8 hours after becoming intoxicated, you must make an additional Fortitude save against the highed intoxication DC. If you fail, you are no longer intoxicated but gain a headache for 1d4 hours. There is no after effects on a successful save.
