Necron warriors were once mortal, but made a pact with the C'tan, exchanging their servitude for immortality and bodies made of living metal. Their enslavement was perhaps more absolute than they'd ever imagined. Seeming as mechanical skeletons, Necron warriors wield fearsome gauss weaponry, a gift from their "gods". The gauss flayer manipulates magnetic forces which act upon the molecules making up its target, stripping them away layer by layer and drawing them toward the weapon. In practice, it is similar to a wizard's Disintegrate spell or a beholder's eye ray.

Standard Actions
BasicMelee.png Close Combat Blades (weapon) ♦ At-Will
Attack: Melee 1 (one creature); +15 vs. AC
Hit: 2d8 + 5 damage.
Ranged.png Gauss Flayer (weapon) ♦ At-Will
Attack: Range 10 (one creature); +15 vs. AC
Hit: 2d6 + 5 damage, and ongoing 5 damage (save ends).
Triggered Actions
We'll Be Back! (healing) ♦ Encounter
Trigger: The necron warrior drops to 0 hit points.
Effect (free action): The necron warrior is not destroyed, instead it becomes deactivated (unconscious) and falls prone, giving every appearance of being dead. At the start of its next turn, the warrior makes a saving throw. (If the necron warrior is at its negative bloodied value or was dealt a critical hit since the beginning of its last turn, it automatically fails.) On a success, the warrior may spend a healing surge, reactivate, and stand as a free action. It may then act normally. On a failure, the warrior is destoryed.
Special: If the necron warrior fails this save within the area of a necron lord or tomb spyder's resurrection aura, it is instead transformed into a battered necron warrior and stands as a free action, ready to act.

Battered Necron Warrior

Repaired by their necron lords or tomb spyder guardians, these warriors recovered from damage they never would have been able to self-repair. Even so, they only just cling to functionality, serving mindlessly as ever. A battered necron warrior immediately phases out when destroyed, vanishing in an eerie glow, to return to the nearest stasis crypt for extensive repairs.

Necron Warrior Tactics

Necron warriors march tirelessly toward their targets, opening fire as soon as they come within range. They do not shy away from close combat, putting the fearsome blades attached to their flayers to good use. Their eery silence and inhuman resilience makes any fight with the necrons an unnerving experience, to say the least.

Necron Warrior Lore

A character knows the following information with a successful Arcana check.

DC 15: The Necron warriors' weapons, gauss flayers, are capable of stripping away armor, flesh, and bone layer by layer, until nothing remains. While they are most fearsome at range, they are fully capable of holding their own in hand-to-hand combat.
DC 20: When they were beguiled and enslaved by their "star gods", most of them became what are now Necron warriors. The "living metal" of their bodies, repairs itself so that only by delivering a decisive killing blow can one guarantee they won't get up and continue fighting.
DC 25: While their mechanical bodies grant them immortality, its interface with the mortal soul cannot be repaired. Each time they fall and rise again, Necrons lose another bit of themselves, their intellect and senses growing ever dimmer.
