Dark Robin

The dark robins are a rather enigmatic type of antipaladin who oppose the law. While as destructive as their brethren, they can make alliances with rebels and do-gooders if it helps them bring down a tyrannical empire. Of course a dark robin sees little difference between a good or evil country. At best a dark robin lives a free life outside the boundaries of the laws, at worst they seek to bring down civilization itself.

Class: Antipaladin

Level: 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 9th, 12th, 15th, 18th

Replaces: Code of Conduct, Smite Good, Cruelties, Spellcasting

Benefit: A dark robin gain the following class features:

Studied Smite (Ex): A dark robin loses her smite good class feature, and instead gains the studied target class feature as a SlayerPathfinder of her class level. However she can never study more than one target at any time, her studied target bonus still progresses as normal. If the dark robin studies a good or lawful creature, she deals extra damage equal to half her class level (minimum 1).

Code of Conduct: A dark robin antipaladin has a modified code of conduct

  • A dark robin is allowed to perform honestly altruistic acts, but only if doing so goes against the law.
  • A dark robin does not obey the law, which is to say she does not need to go out of her way to violate it, but she does not acknowledge it.
  • A dark robin cannot assist law enforcement, unless not doing so would seriously undermine her goals.
  • A dark robin cannot pay taxes, dues or tolls. She may get away from paying them with bribes, tricks or violence.
  • A dark robin should never seek political powers within the frameworks of civilization. By example, she can lead a bandit gang but not become a mayor.
  • She may associate with creatures of any alignment, especially if they oppose the law like her.

Slayer Tricks: At 3rd level and each 3 levels thereafter, a dark robin gains a single slayer trick as a SlayerPathfinder of her class level. She cannot select any tricks which alters or improves her sneak attack. Starting at 12th level she may also select Advanced Slayer Tricks.

Spellcasting: When a dark robin prepares her spell for the day, she may prepare a single ranger spell at each spell level she can prepare. The ranger spell prepared must be of the correct level and is treated as an antipaladin spell for all intent and purposes.
