This substantial leather-bound tome has a lock to keep the cover closed. A large glassy animated reptilian-like eye is dominates the center of the front cover, watching the area around it.
This focus tome serves as a special spell focusing item for anthropomorphize animal. Whenever the holder of this book casts that spell, they may also grant the subject the benefits of fox's cunning at the cost of reducing the spell's duration by half.
Alternately, when used, the caster can make the duration permanent. Any given book may only allow a single subject to benefit from this permanent duration, and attempting to make another subject permanent causes the previous subject's duration to begin running out as normal for the casting.
Mildly cursed versions of this book also exist. If the caster of the spell fails to properly cast the spell while using a cursed edition of the book, there's a 50% chance that the spell still goes off, but the target becomes confused as lesser confusion.
The edition of the tome presented here comes with a good lock.
The book must be open and in hand for the caster to gain benefit from it.
