A pair of black gauntlets with gold and silver trim, they have an intimidating demonic appearance to them. When worn you feel dark power flow through you and ride from your back into two shadowy limbs.
This pair of gauntlets grants the user a pair of ghostly demon limbs made of shadow that seem to be superimposed just over the user's own fists. They allow the user to make unarmed strikes as a monk of their level (or increases their effective monk level by +4 if you already possess the ability). They can also grapple as if they were a creature one size category larger. Attacks from these strikes count as unholy bludgeoning damage for the purpose of bypassing damage reduction. The gauntlets themselves may be enhanced as any masterwork weapon could be.
The gauntlets share a special affinity with the dark. Within shadowy illumination or darker the weapon gains reach as the limbs stretch forth. Within total darkness you gain an extra unarmed attack at your full attack bonus as a swift action whenever you make a successful attack with any weapon.
Binders have a special connection to the gauntlets as the original set of gauntlets was said to be the actual arms of the Left and Right Hands of Darkness. It grants a +5 on the binding check to bind either of these vestiges, and provides the ability to bind both at once.
Rumors say that these tools have a true purpose, to aid in the navigation of some forbidden and hostile layer of the abyss, or perhaps the power to seal or unseal... something buried there. However which layer it protects from has yet to be found, if it actually possesses such a power at all.
Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, grasping hand, must be crafted in a place devoid of light.
Cost to Create: 8000 gp, 640 EXP, 16 days.
