Giantsteel[edit]
A unique alloy of steel, whose initially made by a race of giant, it is a crucible steel, melted by the unbearable heat of giant's flames. It is an incredibly resistant alloy, specially designed to excel at making the immense weapons of giants. Armaments made of giantsteel have incredible material uniformity, and can withstand the test of time. It is said that a giantsteel weapon will forever hold an edge. Giantsteel tends to be of a dark grey color, and has a reddish glow when polished. Giantsteel is so costly that weapons and armor made from it are always of masterwork quality; the masterwork cost is included in the prices given below.
If weapons are made of giantsteel, they become extremely robust, and attempts to sunder them takes a –4 penalty.
Armors made of giantsteel can be modified with the double-plated armor modification without drawback. If the wearer has the Armor Adept (double-plated) feat, their armor's max dexterity is not decreased.
When used to craft a armor and weapon sized for creature larger than medium, the amount of giantsteel can be strategically reduced to make the item lighter without compromising it integrity. This effectively reduce the weight of oversized giantsteel item by 25%. Thus a large giantsteel greatsword would weight 12 lbs rather than 16 lbs. A character with the Monkey GripCW feat takes no penalty when using a weapon one size category larger made of giantsteel.
Giantsteel has 50 hit points per inch of thickness and hardness 15.
