Gunkata Monk

You're a monk from the school of gun-fu.

Class: Monk

Level: 1-20

Replaces: Weapon and Armor Proficiency, Bonus Feats, Flurry of Blows, Unarmed Strike, Bonus Feat, Ki Strike, Slow Fall, Purity of Body, Wholeness of Body, Diamond Body, Timeless Body, Perfect Self

Benefit: You gain the following benefits.

BAB: Gunkata monks have full BAB.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Gunkata Monks are proficient with club, crossbow (light or heavy), dagger, handaxe, javelin, quarterstaff, shuriken, sling, and all firearms (even exotic ones).

Gunkata Monks are not proficient with any armor or shields.

When wearing armor, using a shield, or carrying a medium or heavy load, a gunkata monk loses her AC bonus, as well as her bullet time, death blossom, and flurry of shots abilities.

Special Monk Weapons: For the purposes of feats and abilities, crossbows, firearms, and their unarmed strike are considered to be special monk weapons. They may also take Stunning Fist as if it had no pre-requisites.

Flurry of Shots (Ex): Gunkata Monks have the flurry of blows of a monk, but it only applies to crossbows and firearms. This replaces flurry of blows.

Improved Unarmed Strike: Gunkata Monks gain Improved Unarmed Strike as a bonus feat. Their unarmed damage does not scale like a monk.

Trick Reload (Ex): At 1st level, a gunkata monk gains Rapid Reload as a bonus feat. In addition to the benefits of the feat, a gunkata monk treats any hands wielding crossbows or firearms to be free for the purpose of reloading their weapon and the Deflect Arrows feat. This replaces their 1st level Bonus Feat.

Gunkata Stance (Ex): At 2nd level, a gunkata monk no longer provokes attacks of opportunity for using ranged weapons in melee. This replaces their 2nd level Bonus Feat.

Countershot (Ex): At 4th level, a gunkata monk can actively shoot down incoming ranged threats with their own bullets. As a standard action, any ranged projectile attack which is made within their first range increment provokes an opposed attack roll. On a successful opposed attack roll, the projectile is deflected by your bullets. Countershot lasts until the beginning of your next turn, and you can counter any number of attacks (or until you run out of ammunition).

At 10th level, if you are wielding magic projectile weapons you can also deflect magical rays and ranged touch attack spells.

At 16th level, you can also deflect siege weapons or unusually large projectiles that would breach effects such as wind wall.

This replaces Ki Strike.

Ranged Threat (Ex): At 4th level, a gunkata monk can threaten with her ranged weapons out to a range of +5 ft beyond their melee reach. This increases by +5 ft every even level beyond, to a maximum of +45 ft at level 20. This replaces Slow Fall.

Death Blossom (Ex): At 5th level, a gunkata monk gains Whirlwind Attack as a bonus feat, which they can make attacks out to the range of their ranged threat ability. This replaces Purity of Body.

Style and Pose (Ex): At 7th level, a gunkata monk may stand up from prone as a free action without provoking attacks of opportunity, and in fact does not take any penalties to attack rolls while fighting from prone. However they still retain changes to AC. This replaces Wholeness of Body.

Attack on the Run (Ex): At 11th level, a gunkata monk can fire while on the move, expertly popping out of cover and back behind it in swift motions. They gain Attack on the Run (ranged) as a bonus feat. This replaces Diamond Body.

Wallrunner (Su): At 12th level, a gunkata monk defies gravity and can fire from any angle. They gain a climb speed equal to their land speed, and do not need a free hand to hold on. Instead they walk along the walls and ceilings as easily as the floor.

Deadshot (Su): At 15th level, a gunkata monk can shoot a target and leave shrapnel in vital spots which will eventually kill the creature, perhaps. This duplicates the effect of Quivering Palm, but is for crossbows and firearms.

Bullet Time (Ex): At 17th level, a gunkata monk can dodge ranged attacks with unnatural speed and grace. Ranged attacks have a constant 50% miss chance against the monk, and area effects have a 50% of simply not affecting the gunkata monk as they automatically evade. Because this is speed, and not concealment, true seeing does not bypass this. This replaces Timeless Body.

Perfect Self (Ex): At 20th level, a gunkata monk gain's an altered version of the monk's Perfect Self. They still become an outsider, but gain DR 10/ranged attacks as their expert gunplay allows them to defend themselves from melee with key gun-fu and poses. Once per day, if a gunkata monk is ever dropped below 0 hp they immediately get a full attack action as a non-action before they drop in slow motion.
