Love Lich[edit]

The love lich is a very rare creature, yet despite its name it is neither an undead nor a true lich. Love liches are beings powered by intense love, to the point that even death can't stop them. Love liches look almost exactly like their normal counterpart, except more glamorous. Love liches are created when they begin feeling love so intense it transforms them forevermore.

Usually a love lich's intense love makes them very promiscuous, searching for additional lovers and relationships in excess. However, many love liches are extremely dedicated to one true love. No matter their view on love, love liches are powerful adversaries, essentially living embodiment of a concept. They possess abilities that can overpower other's emotions and even control those with weak minds.

Creating a Love Lich[edit]

Love lich is an acquired template which can be added to any corporeal creature with a Constitution score capable of feeling emotions.

Size and Type[edit]

The creature becomes an Outsider with the Augmented subtype. Do not recalculate BAB, HD, or saves.

Hit Dice[edit]

All current and future HD become d12s. If they already possess a d12 HD, they instead gain a +2 hp bonus for each d12 they possessed.

Speed[edit]

The love lich gains an unarmored speed bonus as a monk of her level. If they already have it they get a +4 bonus on their effective monk level for unarmored speed bonus, if better.

Armor Class[edit]

A love lich adds her charisma modifier as a luck bonus to armor class.

Saving Throws[edit]

A love lich adds her charisma modifier as a luck bonus to saving throws.

Special Attacks[edit]

Lover's Scorn: A love lich gains a +2 to attack and +2d6 damage against creatures that, in the last round, has damaged one of her lovers or is currently threatening one (any time the creature could take an attack of opportunity on the lover). This bonus increase to +4 and +4d6 if the creature has killed her lover and lasts for a full 24 hours.

Powers of Love: A love lich gains love points from their love meter ability, allowing them to pull of several powers by expending these points on any of the powers below. Powers of love require standard action to activate unless noted otherwise, and you may only spend a total number of love points per turn equal to your ECL. The saving throws for any DCs are charisma based.

Love Hurts (Su): For every 1 point of love points they use, the love lich deals 2d6 per point spent to any creature within medium range. This love power is much much more potent when used against loveless creatures. Creatures immune to moral bonuses are staggered for 1 minute and the damage increases to 3d8 per point spent. If a creature has a dedicated lover the damage is evenly split (rounded up) between them and their lover(s).

Shield of Passion (Su): By spending 2 love points, the love lich projects a shield of pure love and passion to shield herself and her allies. The love lich creates a perimeter shield with a range of 10, power of 5 and a hardness equal to her charisma modifier. The shield does not recharge and lasts as long as the love lich concentrates or until it is destroyed, and it costs 2 love points per round to keep active.

Control Emotion (Su): For every 2 love points they use, a love lich can have a creature within close range either fall under the effect of good hope or crushing despair. For every 4 points the love lich spent using this ability above the 2 initial points, the moral bonus or penalty increase by +1. You may choose a different effect for each target.

Love me! (Su): By spending 3 love points, the love lich can replicate the effect of charm monster with a caster level equal to her ECL. When the duration is about to end the love lich may spend another 3 love points, allowing a will save by the targeted creature to negate the effect, to increase the duration to permanent. As long as the creature is charmed it has the dedicated lover template with the love lich as her lover.

True Love (Ex) By spending 4 love points, the love lich gains the dedicated lover template with one creature within line of sight. Unlike the normal template the other creature does not automatically receive it. This effect persists until dismissed by the love lich as a free action

Do it for me! (Su) By spending 5 love points, the love lich may allow one creature within medium range to perform a standard action. If the creature is in a lover pair with the love lich it may perform a full-round action instead.

The Heart Overcome: By spending 6 love points, the love lich may end any one of the following conditions each time you use this: ability penalties (such as from ray of enfeeblement, touch of idiocy, etc.), ability burn, ability damage, ability drain, blindness, confusion, dazing, dazzling, deafness, entanglement, exhaustion, fatigue, fascination, fright, level drain, shaken, panicked, cowering, nausea, paralysis, sickness, stunning, and uncenteredness. Death and dying are not conditions that can be ended by use of this power of love. Gradated conditions such as ability score reductions and negative levels are all removed, instead of only a few of them. Poisons can also be purged from the body, but the ability damage from them must be healed separately.

Heart Ripper (Su): By spending 7 love points, the love lich can attempt to rip the heart (or closest equivalent) out of a living creature within close range. That creature must make a fortitude save or die. Those that succeed will take Con damage as if bleeding, but with twice the penalty. Creatures without circularly systems are immune.

Love Heals All Wounds (Su): By spending 11 love points, the love lich and all creatures in a lover pair with her within 30 feet are immediately affected by a heal spell.

Love Overcomes Death (Su): By spending 13 love points, the love lich can replicate the effects of a true resurrection spell on a creature in a lover pair with her.

Brainwash (Su): By spending 16 love points, the love lich may replicate the effect of mindrape, a failed save against this effect also causes the target to fall under the effects of bind thrall with no saving throw allowed. As long as the creature is bound to the love lich it has the dedicated lover template with the love lich as her lover.

Special Qualities[edit]

Imaginary Dedication (Ex): Love liches do not take the usual penalties from the dedicated lover template. Instead, negative effects from neglecting lovers are included in this template.

Immunities (Ex): Love liches are immune to exhaustion, fatigue, fear effects, and mind-affecting effects. Their incredible passion does not allow themselves to be stopped by their bodies or their minds.

However love liches cannot become immune to moral bonuses or penalties under any circumstance, even if the effect would be stopped by their immunity to mind-affecting effects.

Love Conquers All (Ex): Love liches ignore immunities to mind-affecting effect, compulsion, fear and moral effects when using any of her spells, powers or other abilities against creatures with a mind. Mindless creatures are still immune to her mind-affecting abilities as normal.

Love Meter: Every day the love lich spends with one or more lover she gains one fourth of her ECL in love points. She also gains one love point every day regardless. She may spend these points on powers of love. Whenever one of her lover(s) die or leave her she has 24 hours to either revive it or convince it (typical uses of Love me! and Brainwash for evil love liches) to stay. Otherwise it loses half her love meter (rounded up) or 5 points, whichever is higher.

If the love meter reaches 0 or less, the love lich loses all benefits from this template except love meter until it regains enough points to regain a positive number. If the number is negative, the love lich takes twice her negative love meter value as a penalties to all rolls.

You may only have a number of love points in your love meter equal to twice your ECL. Any point beyond that is dissipated at a rate of 1 point per minute. If you have more points than your ECL, your body and mind becomes twisted by love, becoming a strange and glamorous version of yourself. While in this form you gain one love point per minute as you essentially radiate love.

Undying Love (Ex): You can't die when there so much left to love. When you die you return as a being composed of solid love. In fact after their first death, their original body technically is no more, becoming pure love. The whole process of coming back takes 1d10 days, after which the love lich respawns in a random part of the plane they were on. When a love lich respawns, its love meter is either halved or she loses a number of love point equal to half her ECL, whichever is the greater.
