Ohm's Electrified Equipment
Transmutation [Electricity]

Target: One equipped metal armor or weapon

The orc's formation breaks as one of them is turned sideways by his own spear, tripping up his fellows as well as himself in addition to being singed by bolts of electricity.

This spell has two possible functions, as it can target the armor or weapon of a creature provided the equipment in question is made of metal. Creatures made of metal can be targeted by either use of this spell, depending on the whim of the caster.

  • Armor: The creature’s armor becomes magnetized; if it is an opponent, it must now make a Strength check (with a DC of 15 + ½ the caster’s level) at the beginning of each of its turns to avoid being immobilized until the beginning of its next turn. In addition, the caster may spend an immediate action in order to redirect an attack with a metal weapon onto that creature, forcing the attacker to make a Strength check (with the same DC) or use the same attack roll against the subject’s AC. The creature whose attack is redirected must be threatening the spell’s target in order to have their attack be diverted by this spell.
  • Weapon: A creature whose weapon is targeted with this spell deals an additional 1d6 points of electricity damage per three caster levels on all attacks made with that weapon. Alternatively, this same amount of damage can be dealt to the wielder whenever they make a successful attack. If the caster wishes, they may spend an immediate action to redirect an attack made by this weapon’s wielder to another creature they threaten, using the same attack roll against the new target’s AC. As before, the attacker is allowed a Strength check (using the same DC as before) to resist the attack redirection.
