Pale Birch[edit]

A rare specimen of tree growing in cold, holy forests. The wood of a pale birch is soft, very pale and is said to possess qualities which make it baneful to undead. This wood is prized among undead hunter, as it is able to pierce their varied resistance and can even function as a defensive tool.

While fighting defensively or taking the total defense action with a Pale Birch weapon, all undead creatures of a CR of 2 or less are At Bay from you. A creature with undead ancestry or origin, such as a character with the Dhampir Blood feat, count as undead whenever it would disadvantageous when struck by a attack made with a pale birch weapon.

If pale birch is turned into paper, any books or scrolls made of it gain protection against undead or creature with undead ancestry or origin. If such a creature attempt to use the item they will be unable to, thus a spellbook or scroll made of pale birch cannot be used by a lich. In addition each round the creature handle the text, it take 1 point of damage which cannot be resisted or healed until the text is discarded.

Pale Birch has 10 hit points per inch of thickness and hardness 4.
