Some shapeshifters aren't satisfied with the restriction of their forms to nature's creatures, and don't want all those extra spells the wizard gets that aren't Polymorph. The Shapechanger is for them, allowing use of forms varying from Dragon to Monstrous Humanoid.

Shapechanger[edit]

Shapechangers come from all walks of life. The monk seeking physical perfection through alteration of his physical form completely, the rogue wishing to expand his abilities by becoming something more than human, the 10 year old with the Power Focus flaw using his magic watch to be a hero, the barbarian who wishes to truly connect with his inner beast, or anything between. Shapechangers are as varied as they come.

Making a Shapechanger[edit]

Shapechangers are versatile, being able to fill almost any role in the party. A face might assume the form of Animated Armor to walk about a castle disguised as a knight, a roguish shapechanger may assume the form of a rat to slip through an area unnoticed, while the ones tending towards combat may become a giant to crush their enemies.

Abilities: Intelligence and Constitution are very important for a Shapechanger. Intelligence determines how often he can transform and how long he can remain in his form, and constitution is the only physical stat that carries over during his transformations. Wisdom and Charisma are useful as well, but strength and dexterity are negligible.

Races: Any race which interacts with these types of creatures commonly is likely to become a Shapechanger. That said, in worlds where monsters are rare it is unlikely that Shapechangers appear in the world very often at all.
