Soulflame Candle[edit]
This golden candlestick is topped with a candle made of blood red wax, and burning with a ghostly blue flame that gives off no heat. It grants the user immortality as their soul is now tied to the fate of the candle.
In its base form the soulflame candle is simply the candlestick itself, marked with engravings along its ridge written in arcane lettering. Once properly translated (a DC 25 Decypher Script check with read magic enabled) it reveals the secrets of a ritual involving the candlestick and the creation of a soulflame candle to go upon it. The ritual is one seeped in dark magic and requires the user to cut portions of themselves and draining the fat and blood from their body to produce the wax of the candle, a process which inflicts 1 point of Constitution drain. The ritual takes 8 hours and at its completion the candlestick is topped with a red waxy candle and wick.
From that point on the user need only will to light it. Their life force is now tied to the candle itself, rendering them immortal. They will not age and if slain, they will appear nearby their candle after 1 month. However if the candle ever goes out the user immediately is slain and they suffer the full rigors of age in but an instant. The candle is supernaturally lit and has no need for oxygen or fuel, and can even burn underwater, but anyone willfully snuffing the flame with their fingers works. The candlestick itself can also be damaged to end the effect, but only by force damage or negative energy with a hardness of 0 and as much hp as the user possesses (minimum 10 hp). It is immune to all other forms of damage.
It is said that the soulflame candles was once the work of an ancient wizard known as the Prince of Shining Lights, who feared his encroaching mortality and turned to dark arts in his quest for liberation from fate.
