The later abilities are okay, but this tends to break the game from sheer numbers rather than anything of interest.

- The Savvy Pool throws out rerolls and forces rerolls like they're candy, meaning any important attack of yours is bound to hit, and any major one from an enemy is bound to miss. Luck isn't capped from acting multiple times. (It's a little more ambiguous for deflection, but it doesn't help that much Reflexive Combat allowing you to prepare it before combat starts.) - Ingenuity makes skill points redundant for a huge number of skills, and the bonus on its own makes any use of it effectively "Autosuccess" anywhere after level 3 - Likewise, unlimited Sleight of Hand is a ridiculous ability.

The later abilities aren't as much to talk about - they're a bit better and add more interesting options. However, the early ones are so game-breaking that they do enough to mess up balance, even in higher-power play.

Some comments and questions

Deflection: Can I use this over and over on the same attack, or is there meant to be a limit on that (other than running out of points)?

Savvy Pool: Is your intent that your rogue picking up sneak attack dice from another class replaces the sneak attack they gain from the other class with more savvy pool points? If so, you might wanna make that clearer.

Ingenuity: Wouldn't it be easier to list the skills that this doesn't apply to?

Luck: Can this be used to re-roll anything? If I choose to re-roll, for example, a 2d6 roll, do I reroll the whole thing, or just one of the dice? Can I know the outcome of the roll before I choose to re-roll it?

Underground Contacts: How are any DCs for this computed?

Full Strip: Does this allow re-trying on anything you attempted to steal and failed? If so, this is a little silly, as it basically means you can never fail on it ever unless the DC is more than 20 points higher than your bonus.

Ingrain Muscle Memory: What kind of action can you contingency in this manner? Although you give examples, there are no restrictions on how long the contingencied action can be, which could potentially let you do rather silly things. Is it also your intent that, if a rogue somehow manages to get contingency as in the spell on himself (via his UMD for example), he can have this ability as well?

Dark Revival: Given that the Trickery Devotion duplicate got errata'd, and comes from a book that not everyone owns, I'd recommend spelling out how it works more explicitly.

Additionally, I think that your rogue is very melee-focused - even though he has proficiency with ranged weapons, many of their class abilities emphasize use of melee weapons rather than ranged ones. Is this intentional, and if so, why? - MisterSinister (talk) 02:43, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Deflection has no limit. Yes, SP replaces SA from other classes; would you show me how to make that clearer than it is? I only intended Luck to apply to a whole roll (eg 2d6, rather than 1 die of the 2d6), but I don't know how to make that clearer; it requires you make the roll before you use it, so it's implied that you know the result. Underground Contacts doesn't have any DCs (except Contact Other Plane, whose DCs are given in the spell description). Full Strip: I didn't think of that, good point; I've amended it to "any number of objects". Since the contingency can only be a single action, I can't think of any examples of silly things the rogue could do (although at level 11, some silliness is to be expected); this ability and the spell do stack, and I've changed contingency to ingraining to make that clearer. I've spelled out how Dark Revival works.
And I forgot about the last part: this rogue is somewhat melee focused in that it gives Finesse (required for a rogue to do melee combat), Blade Flick, and the Counterattack special ability that technically only supports melee (Dark Revival also technically supports only melee, but that's a side effect); but it's not my intention to create a melee-only rogue and every other ability can be used with a ranged weapon (especially Find An Opening + Sneak Attack); they just have melee fluff. Underground Contacts has some serious fluff dissonance. If the Rogue is finding things by knowing who to ask, why can he do it anywhere as a Standard Action? Is his contact a deity? --Foxwarrior (talk) 06:37, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
Maybe ;) But to answer your question, it requires the rogue to complete a gather information check first, which requires 1d4+1 hours. Miryafa (talk) 06:58, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
