Dangerously strong with some optimization, but if anyone deserves abrupt jaunt it's fighters, not wizards. Incidentally, this doesn't stop the AoO you'll probably provoke for moving.

Balance

This seems more like Monk than Wizard to me. If it was "Whenever an opponent misses you in melee combat, you may move 5' without provoking attacks of opportunity", then it might be Wizard-level. --Foxwarrior 02:06, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

+1. This is so specific that I don't see much utility being wrung from it. - Tarkisflux 02:38, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
5ft-steps automatically do not provoke AoOs, so the last line is redundant. The fact that it is 'by exactly 1' means that this will occur during 5% of the hits, meaning it rarely will be used. The speed requirement seems a bit odd...since it's only 5 feet of movement. Also, this ability cannot be used when near controllers who make the area around them difficult territory, making it bad against the kind of foes one would want to use this against. Very much monk level to me. --Havvy 02:40, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
Ok... we're all in agreement then... I'll just go change it to that instead of the wizard you picked when you transfered it. - Tarkisflux 02:50, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
I didn't transfer it. There's a new user. Check the recent changes or the history of this page. --Havvy 04:57, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
Whoops. Apparently I need more sleep if I'm making stupid mistakes like that. Sorry Havvy :-( - Tarkisflux 05:01, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
"Why the 'miss by exactly 1'?" is what I'm wondering. It adds a lame limitation to a feat that could be totally sweet. Also, having to spend attacks of opportunity and nasty prereqs make the feat not really worth taking, not even taking into account how sadly specific its effect is. - TG Cid 04:47, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
Your right. I'll remove the exactly 1 limitation. That was a mistake on my part. I'll consider lowering the limitations, and that should bing it back up in power as well as make it more useful. Then Ill put it up to wizard power? Will that work? Im new at this and not experienced. Please tell me if it if still underpowered. Parakee 20:05, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
Your date created property is missing. Still not wizard level I don't think. More a rogue level feat, since it depends on the enemy missing you, which is rare on the attacks that actually matter, like the first one. Still, I can see using this feat as a rogue to get into flanking if I have no other choices. --Havvy 03:05, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
Well it is definitely Wizard-level considering the potential use by sublime characters using Rushes. Especially considering there are no limitations on the number of uses per round as is. One might want to limit its use to movement-related use only.
In a nutshell: boost your AC/miss chance (think Greater Blink, gotta love that spell!), get attacked and missed, use a Rush and ruin the attacker's day with damage, etc. while strategically repositioning and avoiding a full-attack. Lather, rinse and repeat if necessary. Beautiful. -HarrowedMind 03:30, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
