This class, for flavor and theme and everything, is really cool no pun intended. Which is why it breaks my heart to see it just be unusable. I had tried this class out on an NPC, and while good on the surface I kept running into things I had to houserule to either damp the power or make things work. Mind you, this was a VH level game where the PCs crit for like 800 damage, people rip through hundreds of troops and take on people waaaay over their CR. And yet this class still wasn't balanced.

The biggest offenders by far...

Ice Craft is great, until you notice you're proficient in all which is ice crafted, regardless of exoticness or size. The proficiencies are deceptive, it's actually proficiency (everything) because of this. One moment while I chuck Yotta-Titanic Gigas Swords as an attack action. I'm proficient and can wield this. Somehow.

The next is the Detonate ability which is great, except detonating things is an attack action. Poor BAB or no, I don't think it's a good idea to set it to the number of attacks you have, because that's easy to multiply. Laughably it makes the cone of cold useless. Why would you do a standard action for 15d6 when you can full attack for many times more?

And lastly, Ice Assassin. I don't think it's a good idea to give it the same name as the archtypical broken spell, but it's Greater Simulacrum whose level of abilities is high enough to basically double your output and have more actions.

This makes me sad. It could be so much better.
