This template is for use in any article about a physical location. This is a general template for use on locations, but be aware that there might be a more specific template available for the type of location you are editing. Most of the parameters are left optional. If left undefined they will not appear. The recommended image size is a width of 250px so that it will completely fill the infobox without increasing its size.

Add wiki links to articles to the relevant topics.

Notes[edit]

If inhabitants, locations, organizations or settlements is set to any value (yes is usually what is used) then the template will show the "Inhabitants of NAME", "Locations in NAME", "Organizations in NAME" and/or "Settlements in NAME" categories within the template to provide the reader with easy access to categories containing the inhabitants of and locations within the subject of the article.

If the article needs to be prefixed with the word "the" and this is not included in the article name, set the usethe parameter to "yes". For example, consider the article United Moonshaes. "Inhabitants of United Moonshaes" does not make sense, but "Inhabitants of the United Moonshaes" does. Using the usethe parameter in this situation will solve this issue. In situations where the name of the location is not provided by the name parameter of the template, the article's name will be used instead.

Note that when giving years for population figures, it is not necessary to write [[1372 DR]] as a wikilink. Just write 1372 and the template will take care of linking it. Years for population figures are optional.
