This ring feels cold to the touch and as it clamps around your finger, your finger turns pale as a burst of white vapors stream from it before it once again turns to normal temperatures. This ivory ring is topped with a white icosahedron, and embossed with images of a whale.
This ring grants its wearer the following benefits:
- Resistance to cold 5. Unlike normal, this stacks with other sources of energy resistance.
- All natural and manufactured weapons wielded by the wearer deal an extra +1d6 cold damage. This also applies to creatures grappling the wearer at the start of their turn.
- The wearer casts spells with the cold descriptor with a +1 bonus on caster level.
With a touch the user can preserve any object able to be held in one hand in a crystal of difficult to melt ice as a standard action. These objects are encased in the ice and age at a rate of 1 day per year. The ice has hardness 0, 10 hp, is immune to cold and takes double damage from fire. However it does not begin to melt from ambient temperatures until they rise about 90 degrees F. Melting eyes vanishes and does not harm encased objects. Larger objects up to a 5 ft cube in size can be contained, but only over the course of 1 minute.
Alternatively you move over slippery and icy surfaces at up to twice your speed by focusing on the ring, but you can do no other actions other than move actions with your hand held aloft. This is part of a move action, and your ring visibly glows while you move.
